I was invited to check out Spot on Wake in Henley-In-Arden a purpose built wakeboard and water sports lake in the heart of the UK.
Visioned by Pete who spent last summer on a digger sculpting out the perfect foundations for 3 made to shred lakes filled to the brim with custom features. It's like a little hidden oasis in a sleepy farmland community, one that top riders from all over are more than keen to visit and experience.
It's apparent as soon as you arrive and take a look around that this is a special place. It was like nothing I had seen before, there are 3 lakes side by side all tapered to different abilities from total beginner to pro, with state of the art system two technology. The idea is that anyone who comes for a session is tutored by the knowledgable team of cable operators and staff. Making progression inevitable and fun guaranteed.
I was shown around by Seb who I go way back with from university days to winter seasons in the mountains. He showed us a typical start to the day doing all the checks and daily maintenance before strapping in and putting the features to use along with owner Pete.
On the second day I was treated to a show of super talented riders from all over the UK laying down big tricks and imagining lines that went beyond the limit of the water. It was such a friendly and fun atmosphere and I instantly got made to feel part of the crew.
There is even a new Aqua Jungle section thats been put in for people who just want to monkey around in the water.
Huge shout to Pete and Seb for having us and I cant wait to get back there soon for a ride!
